Soma seems to live in a world of his own. While most oxen clearly communicate their thoughts and reactions, Soma remains wonderfully unpredictable. Just when you think you understand him, he does something completely unexpected. Nothing seems to frighten him, and situations that would concern other oxen barely catch his attention. Although he is not one of the strongest oxen and holds a lower position in the herd hierarchy, he moves through life with a calm confidence that is entirely his own. Working alongside Sarvagya in the oil mill, Soma reminds everyone that sometimes the most fascinating souls are the ones who see the world a little differently.
